KACo Benefits Group has partnered with Capstone Administrators to be your single point of contact for handling medical and Cobra-eligible products. Capstone handles enrollments and terminations, and even provides a single list bill. Capstone also handles COBRA administration, keeping you compliant with federal regulations. All of our clients will also have access to Compliance Dashboard, which is customized to fit your entity’s needs and outlines the things you must do to stay in compliance.
By investing in your benefits with KACo Benefits Group, even if you do not utilize the Association Plan, you are investing in efforts to improve county government throughout the Commonwealth. The Association has been representing the needs of county government in legislative matters since 1974. Serving all 120 counties of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, KACo offers a variety of services to promote the progress of county government, including insurance, safety and loss control, financing services, legislative services, and research and planning.
A common misconception is that KACOo Benefits Group offers the Association Plan. While the Association Plan is an invaluable resource for counties within the Commonwealth of Kentucky, we actually offer so much more than that. With more than 25 years of experience and our specialization in public entities, we do not just talk the talk, we walk the walk.
KACo Benefits Group has an exclusive partnership with the Kentucky Association of Counties to give you access to its Association Plan. This plan can often be the most cost effective solution to offering group medical benefits to our employees. Nobody outside out network of agents can bring you this option. There is nothing we cannot bring to the table. But others cannot bring what we can.
KACo Benefits Group is unique in that you get paired with local service team readily available to meet your day-to-day needs, while also having the benefit of being part of a network of agents across Kentucky, giving you access to better carrier service rates. Our service teams have expertise in working with public entities, allowing for a seamless integration of our team with your staff. Our team works with you and for you to ensure your team receives the best experience possible.
Employers, even public ones, with less than 50 employees are subject to Community Rating under health care reform. Instead of basing premiums on demographics, including gender and projected health insurance claims. community-rated premiums are determined by applying health risks and costs within the market as a whole that are averaged and then separated by age, geography, and tobacco use. Your group’s health history can no longer be included. Employers required to offer community-rated plans are seeing premium increases of 39 to 56 perfect compared to pre-health care form coverage (via The Washington Examiner). The Association Plan will be your only option to avoid community rating and control costs.
We pride ourselves on offering a variety of coverages and products to create a comprehensive benefits plan for our clients. Many agents stop with the basics, but going beyond the basics is part of our standard approach. We offer a myriad of coverages, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, disability, group life, and a variety of voluntary products. We can set up Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, Health Reimbursement Accounts, and more to proactively control costs. Putting employees in the driver’s seat with their health care dollars can be an effective strategy for controlling the cost of benefits by encouraging them to educate themselves and seek the best value in health care services. We also offer the services of Health Advocate, which helps employees and their eligible family members navigate health care and insurance-related issues, saving time and money. Having too many options can be overwhelming, but part of our process is helping guide you to cost effectively build the best benefits package, ultimately helping you to retain the best employees.
Managing your entity’s human resources responsibilities can seem like an insurmountable task. Gaps are not always a reflection of an inadequate human resources staff, but rather a by-product of ever-increasing regulations and requirements that must be met. We help make this easy on you by providing a variety of HR tools and resources, such as HR360 and ComplianceDashboard. HR360 provides an online HR library featuring the most current federal and state laws for health care reform, COBRA, FMLA and hiring and terminating employees. ComplianceDashboard is a web-based tool that helps employers understand their compliance obligations, and remember when to complete them by providing an interactive email and follow-up system that monitors the progress of each compliance activity. We also offer benefits education, compliance assistance, and unmatched 24/7 support for your team. From a step-by-step approach for COBRA and FMLA to information on compliance steps that clearly explain how to avoid potential employee lawsuits, we have the tools you need to cover your HR gaps.
